Program Overview

[vc_wp_text]The Urban Assembly School of Design and Construction Alumni Association Inc. created a partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Chapter at Columbia University and with the Most Valuable Kids Inc (MVK). This partnership is building on the strengths of collaboration as well as the capacity of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Chapter at Columbia University and Most Valuable Kids of Greater New York Inc as the lead partners. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund Chapter at Columbia University, a pre-professional organization focuses on mentoring, tutoring and pre-professional development for students at Columbia and for public school students in neighboring high schools. Live entertainment provides a positive source of inspiration for children in a world where there are many negative alternatives. Most Valuable Kids of Greater New York, Inc. brings this inspiration to undeserved kids in the New York Metropolitan Area. MVK does this by offering children’s organizations access to cultural events, professional and collegiate sports and entertainment events through an online ticket donation and reward system. MVK overcomes the financial obstacles associated with attending live events by distributing unused tickets to children who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend. These tickets are distributed to boys and girls, 18 and under, through organizations that focus on children in low-income and undeserved households.[/vc_wp_text]
